Celebrities and the obsession about their Private Lives.

I hate this obsession there is nowadays of knowing everything about people’s private lives. There is a reason why it’s called a private life and that’s because its private. People will discuss it with you if they really want to.

Now let’s take a look at this interview where Krishnan Guru-Murthy asks Robert Downey Jr about his past addictions. I know he's in the public eye but if he wanted to discuss that period, he would in his own time and not on a 3 minute interview when being promoted and interrupted (as he would be.) In this example, the RDJ is there to promote a movie. He is not there to be asked inappropriate questions about his past.

It just seems like there are too many people who cross that private line and do not respect their chance at privacy. It’s the same with celebs being followed around and having pictures taken wherever they go. Now there’s people who say that they ask for it as it’s a price to pay for the fame but is that really right? Would you be happy with it? No, I don’t think you would. Yes, there are some people who have become famous for that attention but there’s also more people who are just doing it because it’s a profession they enjoy. It’s wrong. Its plain wrong in my opinion. And it’s something that really gets me annoyed.

My Granddad George

My Granddad George was a wonderful man. He used to entertain us with his tales of the past and his terrible jokes. How I wish that I had spent more time with him just listening to the tales from the old days. I have plenty of memories that I will treasure of him.
When I was young, I remember going over to his house at Christmas and I have this vivid memory of his saying to me "I think I saw something just land on your roof." He pointed over at it and I love that. When I got home I found the house had been decorated by "santa." Also every Christmas Eve I remember waiting up to see Santa and there he came. Walking down the street. He would wave and them tell me to get to bed. I never knew at the time that this was granddad and I never found out who this mysterious Santa was until after his death. I just hope that he knew how greatful I was for that.
When we went to visit, he was always sitting in the chair in the corner of the dining room with Molly by his side. This was him and thats how I still picture him. He is still sitting in the corner of the dining room at number 3 in my heart. And he always will be.
Love you Granddad and I will always miss you. xx
I just hope you knew how much I always did.

Modern Television

Hello, this is my new blog where I am just going to rant about loads of different things. First up I thought I'd just have a talk about Modern Television and what I think it is missing.
Nowadays, I feel that one thing is lost from TV and thats just silence. Writers and directors just feel the need to have cut after cut, word after word and I wish they actually gave you that little bit of silence. Now, not every programme is like that. Broadchurch recently has been fantastic for being a slower drama. It gave you the chance to think and I think that was one of the great things about the show. Also, in episode 8, there was that one scene where David Tennant's character was just walking and tracking the phones signal. Now that was fantastic as it helped build the tension. I know some people would be thinking, just hurry up and get to the phone but I liked the fact it was just one long scene as it made it feel more real.
I'm not saying, get rid of the fast cuts and the talking. It really works in the action scenes and I think that needs them but its nice to have these little moments where there is a bit of silence. A bit of time to think things through.
I was watching some episodes of Corronation Street from the 60's/70's and those had such a slower pace compared to now and I liked that. Its a shame soaps have lost that. You cut from one scene to another and its rare you have a scene with no-one talking. I do wish they could bring a bit of that back into shows again. Not too much as it can hurt the shows but a bit of thinking time again would be nice.
